Frequently-Asked-Questions regarding Roofing Materials:   Originally, all of the neighborhood's houses were roofed with cedar shake shingles.  Years later, per the requests of the homeowners, an amendment was written and approved that permitted asphalt and other roofing materials.

These newly-permitted roofing materials include: Cedar Shake, Natural Slate Quarried Stone, Fiber-Cement Shingles, Cement-Based Fiber Reinforcement Materials, Reinforced Concrete Tiles, Concrete Tiles (Hendrix Tile or similar product), Clay Tiles, Fired Clay Products, and Dimensioned Asphalt Roofing Shingles (consisting of a minimum of three layers of fiberglass reinforced asphalt material laminated into one shingle to achieve a shadow or three dimensional effect when viewed from the street).   Examples of recently-approved roofing materials include:

CertainTeed Grand Manor
GAF Country Mansion, Camelot and Grand Slate
Owens Corning Berkshire

If you would like to propose an roofing material not listed above, with the same structural and aesthetic qualities, please feel free to contact the ACC.
